What is a Blog, and How do I Join?
A blog (short for weblog) is an online communication tool that anyone on the internet can log on to and post their comments, questions, ideas, concerns, or opinions. Entries are posted in chronological order.
- Click on the "Join Our Blog" Button on the left of the screen.
- Click on "comments" under a blog entry to respond to that entry or click on "New Post" in the top right corner to create a new post.
- Type your comments, questions, etc. in the "Leave your comments" field.
- If you have a Goggle or Blogger account, type in your user name and password in the given fields, then click "publish your comment" or "preview." If you do not have a Goggle or Blogger account, click on "sign up here" and follow the instructions for creating a Goggle account (all you need to tell them about yourself is your email address). Alternatively, click on the "anonymous" box to leave a comment without logging in or creating an account.
- If you want to create a profile for yourself, you may, but this is not necessary. In your profile, you may reveal as much or as little about yourself as you would like (name, email address, etc).
- Limit messages to 100 words or less.
- Send messages that are of community interest.
- Use care in replying to messages to send to individuals who post and NOT the whole membership unless you want everyone to see.

The Haw Creek Community Association Yahoo Group is a digital "bulletin board" where members may post and read information about our Community.
Our Haw Creek Group [hc-a] has been established to achieve our by-laws established purpose to "foster communication among its residents."
Our Group is a restricted list of members who have asked to be included. Membership is limited to residents of Haw Creek and other persons, such as the Community Resource Officer of the Asheville Police Department, who have an important relationship to the community.
Messages posted are to be of Community concerns—not personal business. One can expect to see items such as Association meeting notices and minutes, committee meeting minutes, alerts about bear sightings, announcements about governmental and private activities effecting our community, announcements about activities at the branch library, park, or other venues open to the entire community.
As a member you can post to the list keeping in mind the intent stated above. When you send a message to the list, everyone on the list will get the message instantaneously.
